(no big spoilers just something minor i thought might warrant blurring ^^)
yuru camp
this anime is my ultimate comfort show. it's about 5 girls who go camping together and solo (but that's mostly just rin). this has such cozy, calm, fun vibes, it just makes you feel warm and the music is so relaxing. i think i discovered this anime on accident while trying to look for another one? but i don't quite remember lol
the apothecary diaries
peak. maomao is the goat. very excited for s3
frieren: beyond journey's end
i love stark. very excited for s3
spy x family
anya is so fucking funny. where is s4 :(
the fragrant flower blooms with dignity
VERY VERY CUTE. very wholesome romance and it also goes into the importance of friendship.
buddy daddies
two assassins accidentally adopt a child. honestly such a sweet show with some action scenes. when i finished this and found out it's an anime original, i ran straight to ao3 to get more of them. i found a writer who had written so many fics and even something that i had thought of and wanted to write/read. i read all of their fics and they were amazing.
k-on!
peak. i have so many memories with this anime :')
sakurasou no pet na kanojo
this is an anime about a dorm of trouble-making students and about failure, friendship, romance and ambition. i don't do a very good job of describing it (it's been so long since i watched this) but please watch it, it's so underrated.
gakkou gurashi
it's ideal to go into this blind, just watch the first episode till the end, i promise it's worth it
ajin: demi-human
this is about a boy who discovers he is an ajin, a demi-human who is immortal. this had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. this came out at the time where everyone hated 3D animation in anime but in my opinion this looks amazing and suits the style of the anime a lot. there was one character who i loved but then disappeared quite early in the show and i was watching season 2 and for some reason after some episode in the middle i decided to watch the post credits/ED where they give a preview of the next episode and i got spoiled about him coming back and i lost my mind LMAO
black butler: book of circus
my FAVOURITE black butler arc. absolute peak. marked the beginning of my self shipping journey :') AND ACTUALLY this character made me discover i'm queer lmao i was maybe 13 when i watched this and i thought doll was a boy at first and back then i got crushes on characters so easily so when i found out she's a girl i was like ???? i think i'm bi?
i self shipped with her until i was like 15 btw
free! iwatobi swim club
makoharu was my shit back in the day, this had baby's first queerbait iykyk also sourin > rinharu if it wasn't clear already LMAO i've actually been wanting to rewatch this
haikyuu!!
oikawa do your triple homo spin serve
also that tsukki scene in s3....... ABSOLUTE CINEMA
demon slayer
peak animation, i need to rewatch this lmao
new game
very cute anime about the girls working at a game company.
tsuki ga kirei
such a sweet and realistic romance story
boy meets maria
TRIGGER WARNING: CSA, PEDOPHILIA
an amazing oneshot about two high school boys in a drama club. one of them is famous for doing female only roles so most of the students don't know he's a guy and the other one is an aspiring actor. it goes really deep into these boys' struggles and growth. i stayed up all night reading this and was sobbing through the whole thing.
"if we're together they might tease us for being gay, or call me names, laugh at us from the shadows. but that doesn't mean you and i don't deserve to be in the spotlight"
kiss him, not me
ok firstly i'll say this is a guilty pleasure manga of mine, it has tons of fatphobia and homophobia and i hate most of the characters but i still like it? this is a harem so i was rooting for one particular boy so hard that i couldn't stop reading, because the romance was actually really sweet. this is about an otaku girl who loses a ton of weight after isolating herself after her favourite anime character dies and then a bunch of guys become interested in her bc she's actually super pretty. rolls my eyes. i definitely need to reread this to see if my opinion holds up or if it's actually just garbage lol
kase-san and...
my favourite yuri manga! very fluffy and cute, goes from high school to university. most common conflict is jealousy which does get repetitive imo but they communicate and never fight about it. this has a movie adaptation but i wish it had an anime too :')
the promised neverland
very gripping and surprising throughout. amazing character development, although i wish my fav character got a bit more towards the end. i'm still mad about the second season of the anime :/ the opening song for s1 is a BANGER though
